“Shot among throngs of shoppers early last night on Minnesota Avenue in Kansas City, Kansas, this youth lay on the sidewalk until carried to an ambulance. Identified as Tyrone Williams, 17 years old, he and another youth allegedly had broken the show window of Zale’s Jewelry store, 738 Minnesota, and were fleeing when a special officer on duty at the store fired at them. The officer, Don Wallace, said he was scooping jewelry from the display into a sack.”
