That viral, one-handed KU touchdown from Saturday? It probably wasn’t a catch

Kansas football receiver Chase Harrell was all over social media Saturday night after pulling down a one-handed touchdown reception in the first quarter against Southeast Missouri.

But was it really a catch?

A replay of the video from user thee_snowman on Twitter seems to cast some doubt. Take a look.

On the slowed-down version, it appears that Harrell briefly lost control of the ball with his left hand before securing it with his right. By the time the catch was completed, his entire body was out of bounds.

It all doesn’t matter now. Harrell’s 8-yard touchdown wasn’t reviewed by officials, and KU went on to defeat SEMO, 38-16.
