Sporting KC is seventh most valuable MLS franchise, Forbes says

Sporting Kansas City has climbed to the seventh most valuable MLS franchise, according to a report from Forbes.

The club’s value is listed at $260 million, a significant increase from its $195 million worth one year earlier, which ranked eighth in the league.

That rise falls in line with the rest of the league. The average MLS franchise is worth $223 million, a 20 percent increase over the previous year, Forbes states.

The LA Galaxy is valued at $315, the highest in the league, with the Seattle Sounders second at $295 million.

According to Forbes, Sporting KC drew $36 million in revenue in 2016, which ranked fifth in MLS. Sporting’s revenue was estimated at $33 million in 2015.
